New Pastor Coming to Prairie Winds Parish

The Atlanta/Ebenezer/Hopedale United Methodist Churches (Prairie Winds Parish) are pleased to announce Aletha Weatherall as their new pastor effective July 1, 2020.  We extend a warm welcome to Aletha as she assumes her new role in our communities.

Aletha Weatherall was employed with the Illinois Department of Transportation for 19 years, as an auditor, after which, she decided to retire and go into the ministry full time. 

Aletha is a native of Liberia, West Africa and a graduate of the University of Liberia. She holds a double major in Accounting and Economics. She matriculated to the Daystar University in Nairobi, Kenya and completed two years in the discipline of Christian Ministry.

Aletha is a clergy with the Illinois Great River Conference of the United Methodist Church.  She currently is serving as lead pastor of the Fountain of Life UMC, in Buffalo, Illinois.  Aletha is a gifted and dynamic speaker who is filled with the Holy Spirit.  She also is the chairperson of the Illinois Great River Conference Prayer team and serves on several conference committees.

Aletha currently resides in Bloomington, IL.  She has two beautiful daughters, Rhoda (26) and Blessen (17).  Rhoda graduated with a (Masters in Divinity) from the Duke Divinity Seminary, Durham, N.C. and Blessen has just completed her junior year at Springfield High School, in Springfield, IL.

Aletha is married to the Reverend Sylvester Weatherall, the Directing Pastor of the Normal Calvary UMC, Normal, Illinois, and former District Superintendent of the Sangamon River District of The Illinois Great Rivers Conference of The United Methodist Church.

Best of all, Aletha loves the Lord with all of her heart, soul and mind and she is a child of God!
